‘Metallurgy Center’
was developed as a scheme of rather perverse
expressions. Architecture as machine dictates
the building form. Exhibition space and other
light-sensitive program are bundled into the block of opacity, which as a canopy hovers above the public portion of the building. 6 robust tripods act as mega-space-frames that not only undertake dead loads, but also resist lateral movement on a hypothetical site that is prone to frequent seismic activities.
